Except nVidia cards work TERRIBLY with Ubuntu...or any OS for that matter.

I've never had a problem with my nVidia card. Compiz runs perfectly on it. Anyway nVidia is slowly beginning to embrace Linux as a reasonable market share. Also development on the Open Source nVidia driver has seen great improvements.

I have just had a lot of issues with nVidia. Like when I upgrade the kernel, it is a pain in the ass to get it working again. With my ATI card, I have no difficulties.
